Can I Complete My Entire IVF Cycle at My Local Fertility Clinic?

Planning Your IVF Visits

Your IVF Cycle May Include Visits to More Than One Location.

IVF is not one procedure completed in a single day. It includes planning, medication, monitoring, egg retrieval, laboratory care, and embryo transfer. Some of these appointments may be available at your local Brown Fertility clinic, while others require a dedicated IVF facility.

Where each step takes place depends on the services available at your nearest clinic and the treatment plan created for you.

Many of Your Regular Appointments May Happen Close to Home.

During ovarian stimulation, you will return for bloodwork and ultrasounds so your physician can see how your follicles are developing and how your hormone levels are changing. These appointments help your team decide whether your medication or treatment schedule needs to be adjusted.

Depending on your location, you may be able to complete this monitoring at a nearby Brown Fertility clinic. Consultations, fertility testing, medication teaching, and follow-up appointments may also be offered locally.

Visit our locations page to find the clinic closest to you. Our patient team can confirm which IVF services are currently provided there.

Egg Retrieval and Embryology Require a Specialized Setting.

Egg retrieval takes place in a clinical environment equipped for the procedure. The retrieved eggs then move directly into the care of an embryology laboratory, where fertilization and embryo development take place.

Because this work requires specialized facilities and laboratory teams, your egg retrieval and embryo transfer may be scheduled at another Brown Fertility location. Learn more about the steps involved in IVF treatment.

Even when you visit another facility for a procedure, your treatment remains connected. Your physician, nurses, monitoring team, and laboratory team work from the same plan and share the information needed for your care.

You Will Know Where Each Appointment Takes Place.

Before your cycle begins, your care team will explain which visits can happen locally and which ones may require travel. Exact treatment dates can change because they depend on how your body responds to medication, but you will receive instructions as the cycle progresses.

Knowing the likely locations early gives you time to think about transportation, work, childcare, or other arrangements. If travel is a concern, bring it up during your consultation so it can be considered while your plan is being developed.
