Program Overview

Donating eggs is a life-changing gift. Women who have diminished ovarian reserve, poor egg quality, advanced maternal age, genetic concerns or premature menopause are encouraged to explore the option of using an egg donor if trying to conceive. When couples decide to take the next step, one of the most important decisions you will make when expanding your family through egg donation is where to go for this treatment.

At Brown Fertility, we have a warm compassionate environment with one of the largest selections of donors. Brown Fertility’s highly successful Egg Donor Program gives couples the opportunity to make their dream of conceiving a miracle come true.

Your Appointment

After meeting with one of our providers to determine if donating eggs is the right option, you will meet with our Third Party Nurse Coordinator who will educate you on donor eligibility requirements, the donor selection process, and instructions to access our donor profiles. These profiles include various ethnicities and education; along with a childhood and current photograph. The Nurse will also review all consents, sample calendars, medications, other required testing, and the risks and benefits of IVF. Financial consultation will also be provided at this time as well.

What Questions Should I Ask When Going Through The Donor Egg Process?

  1. How long does the process take?
  2. What medications will I need to take and for how long?
  3. What are financing options or do you offer any discount programs?

Success Rates & Statistics

Our Egg Donor Program has proven success rates and a very in-depth screening process to ensure the best chances of conceiving. In 2014, Brown Fertility’s cycles resulted in a 72% pregnancy rate. Our numbers have been going up since then, with a 100% success rate for the month of August 2016.

Choosing a reputable facility provides the best chances of creating your miracle baby.

Donors

Both anonymous and known egg donors are appropriately screened under the same FDA guidelines, however, a legal contract must be created and agreed upon by both parties when using a known donor.  We offer recipients the option of utilizing an anonymous or known egg donor; anonymous donors are provided through our donor program, whereas known donors can be provided by the recipients.

All women donating eggs must undergo a preliminary screening to initiate eligibility. Prescreening for donating eggs includes a detailed health history and physical examination, as well as an in person interview to discuss the donor process. Once they are deemed eligible, the donors will complete a psychological evaluation and will be screened for their Genetic Carrier status. All donors must also meet FDA eligibility requirements, including a time sensitive testing of communicable diseases. We offer competitive compensation for anonymous egg donation with the potential for a maximum of 6 donations. Known donors are compensated directly through the recipient.

Anonymous egg donors must be between the ages of 18 – 34 years of age. Women who are known donors may be over the age of 34; however, they must complete additional testing to determine the potential for a positive outcome before donating eggs.

The Process

Oral medications and injections to prepare ovaries for retrieval are given to the woman who is donating eggs. The Recipient will take oral and injectable medications to prepare the endometrium for the transfer of embryos. The eggs are then retrieved from the donor through a minimally invasive procedure. The eggs that are retrieved are then fertilized with the sperm of the Recipient’s partner or donor sperm. After 3 – 5 days, the embryo(s) are then transferred in to the Recipient’s uterus under ultrasound guidance.  If possible, any remaining embryos that are viable for pregnancy will automatically be cryopreserved for future use.
