February Baby of the Month: Meet Nolan
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 15, so we knew when we were ready to start a family we might struggle. My primary care physician put me on Metformin to try and help, but after six months we decided we needed to be more proactive, and that’s when we found Brown Fertility. During the initial consultation they wanted to do a sperm analysis just in case- and surprise, it came back saying my husband had a low sperm count. With both of our issues, Dr. Brown let us know that IVF with ICSI was going to be our best bet. We could try other methods if we wanted to, but he didn’t want us to waste our money.
In July 2015, we did our first round and were so happy to finally get that positive pregnancy test! On March 21, 2016, our impatient boy, Brayden, came three weeks early and has since brought so much joy to our lives.
In September 2017, we were ready to try again with the frozen embryos we had left. With how easy it was to get pregnant the first time, we were super confident this time around. Unfortunately, neither of the embryos took and we were left heartbroken. When we had our meeting with Dr. Brown a couple weeks later, we asked if it would be best to start over instead of using the rest of the frozen embryos. He could’ve said yes and made a lot more money from us, but instead said he was confident that there was another baby for us in the ones left. That’s what we like most about him. He isn’t there to just line his pockets, he really is in the business to help people. I left that appointment feeling so much better about it not being my fault it didn’t work and having regained my hope that we will have another successful pregnancy.
In February of 2018, we tried again and this time it did work, our son was going to be a big brother! November 1, 2018 our second son, Nolan, was born and has become the perfect addition to our family. Since I was a little girl, all I ever wanted to be was a mother. Because of Dr. Brown and all of his staff, my dreams have come true. We can never thank him enough for our amazing children and for never letting us lose hope.
